e, the people of St. John Chrysostom Parish, recognize our baptismal call to continue the mission of Jesus and to grow as a faith community.  Our parish theme, “To Serve Him Is To Reign” reflects our desire to fulfill this mission through lives of service.  Accepting  this call, we respond as a parish community that…

 

           Worships God…

through prayer, liturgy and sacrament we celebrate God’s love and seek to inspire the community to witness and to reach out.

 

Creates and nourishes Christian Community…

through social events and organizations, and in all encounters with family, friends, co-workers and strangers we seek to sustain our identity as a faith family.

 

Teaches the message of Christ…

through a parish school and religious education programs for young people and adults, we seek life-long growth in understanding our faith and the love we are called by Jesus to give.

 

Serves those in need…

through alms, generous acts of charity and outreach programs, we seek to discover and meet the needs both within and beyond the community, offering spiritual comfort, physical assistance, and emotional support, and a living out of our love through service.

 

Proclaims the Good News…

through each of our ministries but also through all of our daily activities and encounters, we seek to bring the Good News of God’s love to every person that we meet and to love every person as our neighbor.

 

     Through the intercession of St. John Chrysostom, we pray for God’s guidance and strength to continue to bear witness to Jesus and to make our parish a beacon for all who seek God’s light and warmth.
