11A. KM presented an overview of the findings from our September 19th meeting using the mock ups of the Blessed Sacrament Altar and Ambo. A wooden platform will be constructed to allow positioning of the Ambo is various areas to better understand esthetics and functionality. Discussions with Charles Flynn of Marble Works Inc. (a recommended vendor by the Archdiocese) has confirmed that a step extension of our existing marble or a stand alone platform to support the Ambo are both viable options, each having specific challenges. The step extension presents risks such as color match and the stand alone platform size needs to ensure proper clearance on all sides for ease of movement. The Ambo platform support mock up will help us determine a practical solution.

11B. Fr. Bajorek and those available from the committee will visit on Thursday October 11th, St. Joseph in Aston, Our Lady of Charity in Brookhaven and Notre Dame in Swarthmore to evaluate their renovations with hopes to gain insight and help the SJC planning process.

11C. Tom presented updates on the entire project starting with the outside traffic flow improvements. Jack Q has been the driving force for this initiative and after careful discussion, it was concluded that the outside work will be divided into three phases that include, #1- renovations in the front of the Church, #2- closing off an existing entrance on Providence road and #3- constructing the parking lot near the convent. Decisions were based upon the storm water management costs, permit timing and engineering fees as compared to available capital campaign funds. Jack Q will work with the civil engineer to better understand costs and implications of each phase.

11D. Tom reviewed the design status of the Ceiling/lighting/Sound and Elevator and reported that the submittal for preliminary approval to the Archdiocese on October 19th; we will submit a set of documents with drawings that are approximately 80% complete (Archdiocese requirement).

We also plan to use these submittal drawings for pre-bidding by a selected short list of contractors.

11E. Jack Q will arrange asbestos testing of the ceiling tile.

11F.  Tom will contact Home and School president John Gelato and discuss with him our initial thoughts to relocate the primary unit kitchen, CCD room and Copy room to allow for the elevator equipment location. He will ask John to communicate with and distribute our proposed layout drawing to high use users of these areas including the school Principal, CCD, Pre-Cana and Hospitality committee leaders seeking their comments and or endorsement to our proposed recommendations.

11G. We discussed the Archdiocese approval process and our goal to receive approval in December. Arthur Friedman is the coordinator of the approval process and he will visit SJC on November 6th and meet with Fr. Bajorek, Tom and Ken to discuss the process and offer his assistance to ensure we meet the requirements.
