High School Youth Group

 

1. Description of Ministry
  St. John's Youth Group is comprised of parish teens in grades 9 through 12 who come together on a bi-weekly basis to celebrate youth and the abilities of their generation. We set forth to empower youth, to worship and serve God and those in the community around us, to find and develop our gifts as individuals and as a group, and to learn and become aware of issues in the world around us and the Church's view on these issues. These goals branch into the four components of youth ministry that we try to incorporate in our activities: education, service, social, and spiritual.
2. Frequency/Schedule of Meetings/Activities
 
Youth Group meetings are held twice a month on parish grounds.
Service Projects/Social Events/Educational Topics and Retreat Opportunities vary from year to year -- are discussed and decided upon by the members at the Kick-Off meeting each year.
Archdiocese events vary from year to year and our participation is decided upon as we become aware of individual events.
3. Where do I perform service?
  Parish Grounds.
4. Who are served?
 
All parish High School students.
Neighboring community and those in need through service projects.
