Ministry Information Sheet
Stewardship Committee
| 1. | Description of Ministry |
| Stewardship is the recognition that everything in our life is a gift from God. We are called to return to God a portion of the bounty that God has given us through the contribution of our time, talent, and treasure. The Stewardship Committee exists to educate parishioners on the understanding of stewardship and to facilitate their efforts to live a life of stewardship. These include (but are not limited to) assisting the teaching of stewardship in all parish-sponsored religious education programs by providing educational materials; alerting parishioners to opportunities for contributing their time and talent by assisting in the sponsorship of Stewardship Sunday; and by establishing and maintaining a parish web site containing information on all parish ministry opportunities. | |
| 2. | Frequency/schedule of meetings/activities and realistic time commitment to activities |
| The Stewardship Committee meets as needed for projects, much is communicated via email. Committee members frequently leave a meeting with assigned tasks that might consume 1-3 hours per month of their time. | |
| 3. | Where do I perform Service? |
| Meetings are held in the Parish House. Assigned tasks are typically performed at times convenient to members in their own homes (e.g., making telephone calls, typing announcements, etc.) | |
| 4. | Who are served? |
| The Stewardship Committee serves all parishioners in their efforts to live a life of stewardship. | |
| 5. | Preparation |
| There is no special training or education required for service on the Stewardship Committee, but members are encouraged to read the U.S. Bishops' Pastoral Stewardship: A Disciple's Response | |
