LOAVES AND FISHES

 

1. Description of Ministry
   This is the cover title for the food distribution efforts of the Parish.
2. Frequency/Schedule of Meetings/Activities
 
A. Bernadine Center in Chester
a. Jim and Betty Ortoleva, 610 565-5328, take the food that is deposited at the church stairway to the Bernadine Center each week on Wednesday.
b. The Religious Education Program collects food twice per year through their students.  The food is either picked up by the Center or brought to the center by volunteers.  The contact person is the Religious Education Coordinator, Theresa Hedlund, 610 872-4673
B. Thanksgiving Dinners - Distribute turkeys and fixings each year.  Collect food and money from parishioners for dinners.  Help purchase and bring food from grocery store to Parish House garage.  Assemble dinners and greet clients when they pick their bags of food from the garage.
C. Christmas Dinners - same as above
3. Where do I perform service?
   Grocery store and Parish House garage
4. Who are served?
   Clients recommended by parishioners, St. Vincent DePaul society, school nurses and people we know from past need
5. Preparation
   Leader needs to contact volunteers, put announcement in the bulletin requesting financial or food donations, and get a list of clients from the above sources.  Helpers need to purchase and assemble dinners.
