Ministry Information Sheet
The Faithful Band
| 1. | Description of Ministry | ||||||||
| The Faithful Band is a group of vocalists and instrumentalists who lead the congregation of St. John's in song at Sunday liturgies and other special events. | |||||||||
| 2. | Frequency/Schedule of Meetings/Activities | ||||||||
| The Band practices for two to three hours each Wednesday evening and plays at the Sunday 9:30 Mass during the non-summer months (September - June). Time commitment for members is about four hours per week. | |||||||||
| 3. | Where do I perform service? | ||||||||
| Practice and Masses are mostly at St. John's church. The Band plays at a variable number of events at other locations throughout the year. | |||||||||
| 4. | Who are served? | ||||||||
| Although most activity is at St. John's, The Band plays each year at the Devon Prep Junior Ring Mass in December, and the Baccalaureate Mass in June. In 2000, we presented a Christmas concert at Medford, NJ, sponsored by the Medford Friends Meeting. We also play at weddings in other locations. | |||||||||
| 5. | Preparation | ||||||||
| New members need either vocal or instrumental musical skills (preferably both). They should feel comfortable working in a largely unstructured environment where each individual contributes ideas to arrive at arrangements for songs. | |||||||||
