Ministry Information Sheet

Scouting

1. Description of Ministry
Give boys in grades one through five an opportunity to have fun, make new friends and become an involved member of the community. We conduct an Aid For Friends cook-in in the fall as well as participate with the Boy Scouts in our parish holiday food drive. We try to build character in the boys through these activities, while the boys also experience a sense of achievement while earning their various badges.
2. Frequency/Schedule of Meetings/Activities
Each den (separated by grade) meets twice per month. While the whole pack (all the scouts) meets once per month in addition.
3. Where do I perform service?
Most meetings are on the parish grounds in the Lower Church Hall or parish house lounge. Some may be at the den leaders homes.
4. Who are served?
The Aid for Friends cook-in serves members of the parish while the food drive proceeds are brought to the Bernadine center in Chester
